The tropical climate in the South-Eastern Region of Dhofar differs significantly from the rest of the country. The temperatures here are subject to minor fluctuations and it is more humid. While temperatures reach approximately 27°C during the winter months, they rise to around 32°C during the summer months. Even at night, the thermometer rarely shows below 20°C all year round, so the climate is pleasantly mild. From June to September, the weather is dominated by the Khareef, a less severe but nevertheless powerful offshoot of the monsoon. In Salalah, it, therefore, gets extremely humid due to the heavy rainfall, which temporarily turns the area into a green oasis.
